Mardaani starring Rani Mukerji completes five years and her iconic character of Shivani Shivaji Roy, a lady cop was much appreciated by audiences and critics alike. The movie is based on the dark world of human trafficking in India and Rani’s character of Shivani Shivaji Roy fights as a lone crusader against the traffickers.
 
The movie encouraged and motivated masses especially women to speak up and fight against injustice done to them. Rani’s characters resonated with people; this was not the only character of Rani’s that dealt with fighting against wrongdoings. Her character in No One Killed Jessica was also lauded by the audiences and critics alike. She essayed the role of Jessica’s sister, a common citizen who fights to gain justice for her sister who is murdered by a high profile socialite.
 




Her performance in both the movies was hit and so were the films. Rani has always been an ardent advocator of human rights even speaking and fighting for justice. During the movie promotions, she appeared on lots of shows to speak about women being their own protectors and how they can alone beat the perpetrators. Her look in the police uniform was also appreciated a lot. 
 
Rani had an amazing career graph, she portrayed versatile roles from meek and docile to strong and blunt, she has given it all; at her best. She was last seen in the hit movie Hitchki in which she portrayed the role of a teacher with a speaking disorder called Tourette Syndrome. Even amidst her disability, she wins the heart of students with her unique teaching methods.
